Second Downloadable Resident Evil 5 Episode Live

By Spencer . March 3, 2010 . 11:09am

deOn Xbox Live that is. Desperate Escape, Resident Evil 5’s second extra chapter, arrives on PlayStation Network tomorrow.

Players take control of Jill Valentine (minus her mind control device) and BSAA operative Josh Stone as they escape from a Tricell facility. Prepare to face hordes of enemies while rushing to aid Chris and Sheva. The 400 Microsoft Point ($4.99 on PSN) pack also adds Josh Stone and Rebecca Chambers from Resident Evil 0 to the Mercenaries Reunion mode.

A costume pack with Sheva dressed in a business suit and Chris in heavy metal armor is also available for an extra 160 Microsoft Points ($1.99 on PSN). This add-on also adds both “characters” to The Mercenaries Reunion.

I don’t care about the costume pack but i’ll definitely get DE.

I really enjoyed LIN (except the cheesy Matrix-Wesker fight.)

i’d be willing to pay up to zero ms points to have jill changed back to a brunette. that’d be proper dlc.

Yeah I don’t know why they changed her hair color, I prefer brunettes over blondes. Oh well, at least Capcom has not screwed up Rebecca or Claire (yet).

i was particularly insulted by their in-game rationalization for this change.

Im waiting for the Gold re-release, which on PS3 actually makes this game the way it was originally intended. Takeuchi said a while back in a Japanese interview that there was a lot of cut content from this game that just would not fit on the DVD and that he would like to see the complete game released on PS3 at some point down the road. Looks like he got his wish.

Honestly having all the content on the disc is ideal for me as that way I never have to worry about servers no longer being in operation down the line and hard drives crashing. In all honesty Im starting to feel DLC is one of the worst things about this gen, if for nothing more then devs cutting content to charge for it later. I also holding out for Lost Planet 2 Gold or whatever they end up calling it so I can get all the DLC on one blu-ray (like it should be).

DLC made its way into devilry long ago as far as I’m concerned.

I really want to play Lost Nightmares and Desperate Escape now by getting the DLCs on 360, but the downloads are rather big (over a gig together), so I’m waiting for the PS3 Gold as well to have the whole package on one disc. As for Jill, the blond hair doesn’t fit her, but Capcom sure gave her one heck of a bad nose job, though she looks kind of okay in these 2 episodes..
