Something About This GDC Slide Isn’t Quite Right…

            Final Fantasy XIII isn’t a real RPG. It’s an action game that wants to be a RPG.

            That is quite true, I mean didn’t Toriyama or some other guy say they were aiming for a non-stop narrative like FPS, moving the story along..

    So Square-Enix bought up Eidos thinking they’ve been making Western RPGs all these years in Tomb Raider and Hitman? Hmmm…

    I’m kind of sick of Square-Enix’s ‘Western’ fixation and I hope this slide isn’t a hint of them making changes to most of their IPs to ‘cater’ to the ‘Western’ crowd. Just make games as you’ve been doing and go in with the idea of making a ‘good’ game, not trying to make a game tailored to the Western/International market.

      That actually sounds plausible. I mean, judging from their recent screw-ups, Squenix obviously doesn’t have a clue of how the western market perceives games. If this keeps up, they’ll never be successful here, and in the process they’ll ruin Eidos too. Mh, not that there was much left to ruin, but you know what I mean.

    Maybe they have mistaken the word “RPG” for “game” as in Western Games vs. JGames? Any chance? People?

    Back to leveling up Lara Croft now.
