Meet Majin, The Giant Monster In Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom

By Spencer . March 16, 2010 . 5:41pm

Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Game Republic’s monster buddy game, stars a boy and monster. What exactly does the friendly monster do? Breathes fire, radiates electricity, and acts as a stepping stool.

Majin does all of these actions in this trailer, which highlights interactions between the two characters.

Namco Bandai confirmed a summer release for Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom in North America. The game has a vague sometime-this-year time frame for Japan.

I like the way the pace of the game looks, I thought it would be slower originally. I wonder if they'll be putting a combo system in this game…

  • wildarms

this is from the ICO team right?

  • badmoogle

I can't tell if this is a genuine question or if you are being sarcastic…
Anyway no it's not from Team Ico.:p

That looked great! absolutely no one talk about this game in other sites while it looks more interesting than 99% of what is in the market, this game needs more advertising starting now.

Really looks improved. Got my eye on it, Hexadrive's really a rising star…

Nice article about Game Republic in a recent EDGE magazine (UK) too, 4 pages or so about Majin and GR's Clash of the Titans game. The issue with Halo Reach on the cover. Read it in a US Barnes & Noble this past weekend.

And I feel the personal need to hype Clash of the Titans, because there aren't enough people doing it. Shocking for a big movie license game, but then again it's also shocking to have a skilled Japanese development team working on the game adaptation of a high profile Hollywood film. It looks great from all I've seen so far. A little God of War styled, to be expected. And Majin is starting to look somewhat similar to Team ICO's Last Guardian. But both are looking really good. I'm excited.

Lol, i was being sarcastic xD, this looks a lot like an ICO team game, besides, if memory serves me right, they were doing one with a kid and a monster as well.

  • thebanditking

Well there are some rather obvious clues that this is not from Team Ico.

    1. Namco Bandai is publishing it

    2. Its coming on 360 too

Those two things alone answer your question. Though maybe you were joking?

  • thebanditking

Looks interesting, I really liked Folklore so I am going to be watching this one very closely.

  • wildarms

Yeah, i said i was being sarcastic, and this one looks like the one team ICO is developing o_o. Still, looks pretty good.
