Screenshots Show Blaze Union’s Future

imageBlaze Union: Story to Reach the Future is Sting’s next project. Storywise, the PSP game acts as a prequel of sorts to Yggdra Union, but since it’s developed by a different team it’s not a Dept. Heaven title.  R-Force Entertainment is writing the story.

Blaze Union should seem familiar if you played Ygddra Union, though. Both titles use the same system and have animated intro movies. Point Pictures made Blaze Union’s. For those of you that skipped Yggdra Union or need a refresher, Blaze Union has a tutorial mode.

Atlus is publishing Blaze Union: Story to Reach the Future in Japan on May 27. A North American release date has not been announced at this time, but Atlus USA publishes pretty much every Sting game here so…

Is the main character a boy or a girl?

    • Yuan

Male. Voiced by Toriumi Kousuke (no matter how his appearrance is, I don’t see this CV voicing female character).

Yggdra union was dull and boring……. i can’t imagine this being any different

Not looking too bad. I actually kinda like the art style, although it’s not as unique as YU (and although the males are not male enough…).

  • masuto

Ohhh I like! Another strong female lead!

I support a ‘Union spin-off series. Take the best game out of the bunch, and clone it. Switch up art and sound with each iteration. Wouldn’t mind seeing the sprite art get a face lift eventually either. Work your way up to a console version.

Dude’s a dude, by the way. This is going to be one of “those” games.

I only played a few battles in Yggdra Union, but I’m interested enough to try this one out.

I played Yggdra Union back on the GBA, and just finished the PSP port of the game a few weeks ago – it still stands as one my favourite portable games, so I’ll definitely be picking up Blaze Union. I’ll be interested to see how it feels compared to Yggdra Union though given the different developer.

I agree that Yggdra Union is one of my favourite portable games in terms of strategy. The battlesystem was amazing, so good to see it being used again but not too fond of the terrible art this time. I did like the previous art.

Wow looks great. Yggdra Union is a great game so seeing this game resemble it so much is enough to get me hoping for a western release.
