On Top Of The Last Story’s Star Gazing Tower

Nintendo posted another update on The Last Story, this time focusing on a Star Gazing Tower. Concept art shows two people talking about their dreams.

These two characters (lead characters?) lost their parents when they were children, but managed to survive in a war torn world fueled by political instability. “They face loneliness over and over,” said the anonymous director.

“This Star Gazing Tower is an especially beautiful place to see the stars on Luli Island,” the mysterious producer wrote. “I think everyone has a special place. For the girl, this Star Gazing Tower appears to be an important place.”

Thanks for the tip Pesmerga00!

The parents dead is more than used up, but yeah, it still sounds interesting, specially if these 2 lead chars are a boy and a girl

Hehe, it’s actually very difficult to find a RPG where both your parents are alive.

I guess living in some crapsack world where there are monsters roaming just outside every city, will have an effect on the general population. I mean, for a normal villager, even just going mushroom hunting is like having a death wish.

I agree. Orphaned hero is near the top of the grand RPG list of cliches.

However, it still doesn’t detract me from being interested in this game. It will be all kinds of awesome.

lol, I always have the same thoughts, like how cool it would be if there are dragons in this world, but then we would all be dragon food :)

So it would be less interesting if it was a girl and a girl or a boy and a boy?

Yeah :P u see, im a romantic guy myself

Come to think of it, it feels like most JRPGs/anime never properly illustrate what it’d be like to have no parents and to, well, “Face loneliness over and over,” so I hope that statement reflects a desire to capture that.

And daaaayum, that is gorgeous. I’m looking forward to this more and more.

They may not properly illustrate it, but it certainly is used a lot. And then generally completely forgotten about half an hour in.

I’m pretty confident in the Gooch putting a good team for this game, including good writers fleshing out the emotional aspect since the Cry On Project got scrapped. Especially if Lost Odyssey was an indication, of course not everyone’s Shigetmatsu Kiyoshi the award-winning novelist, those novellas were extremely touching. I”m more concerned about the gameplay.

can we just get game footage already

    • badmoogle

Yeah,as much as i love the concept art it’s about time they start showing some ingame screens as well.

Agreed – the hype machine is reaching terminal velocity.

This is the best art for a video game I have seen in a while.
