Class Of Heroes 2G Teaches PS3 A Thing About Dungeon Crawling

imageZeroDiv, the developers of Class of Heroes, took a course in PlayStation 3 programming and are working on a PlayStation 3 version of their dungeon RPG series.

Famitsu lists Class of Heroes 2G in their table of contents as a PS3 game. Scans aren’t out, but early reports say it’s a port of Class of Heroes 2. That’s not too hard to believe given the game’s name. Other unconfirmed details claim Class of Heroes 2G has full voice acting, an expanded character edit mode, and is scheduled for July 15.

Atlus brought Class of Heroes to North America, but didn’t pick up the PSP sequel. Back at GDC, we noticed Acquire was on the hunt for a Western publisher.

  • I would love to see the sequel published here, but maybe people would feel a little more comfortable paying a little more if they got the game on a console system?

I think the problem is the price. Atlus wanted $40 for the original (still are asking that). That’s a lot for a dungeon crawler with minimal visuals and no voices/cutscenes.

Also probably didn’t help that CoH2 came out in Japan before CoH1 came out in NA (or close to it)…when you hear about a sequel already out, it’s hard to get excited about the original

CoH is still a great game, well worth $40.

Can’t wait for the localization of 2G.

        • Well, we can hope, but like JeremyR said and the last time CoH was discussed, $40 is pretty steep compared to, say, similar games that has had even a few dollars etched off over time. I’m just wondering those who didn’t feel confident paying that amount for a PSP game would go for the same game with more features on the PS3.
I don’t have a PS3, but if this does get picked up for N.A. it’s just *one* more reason I should/will.
Who knows, maybe it was a good idea that Atlus held off the PSP version for this? Wishful thinking…

  • I think Atlus might be willing to pick this up for PS3, honestly. I’d like to think so anyway. The PS3 needs a game like this in the US.

This would be right up there in difficulty with Demon’s Souls for us, heh. This is Wizardry after all. I’ll get it one way or another, but yeah..I really hope Atlus releases this in the US (as a PSN download for sure).

So it’s basically a PSP port?

I doubt this will be released on disc, if it does get here.

Hmm…sounds like it’s not worth it as a retail disk.
