Xseed: “We’re Going To Give You A Lot More Reasons To Own A PSP Soon”

By Spencer . April 13, 2010 . 6:03am

image Since Samurai Shodown Sen is in stores, what is Xseed working on now? Apparently, something for PSP.

“We’re going to give you a lot more reasons to own a PSP soon, why not just give in to the temptation now,” an Xseed employee posted on Facebook in response to a Lunar: Silver Star Harmony inquiry.

“A lot more” sounds like more than one PSP game. Hmm… wonder what these PSP projects could be.

    Falcom plz.

  • truebluepaulcfc

PLEASE let this be Sora no kiseki

  • malek86

Falcom sounds like a good idea.

  • what about wii or ds?

    • what about them?

      • they re not receiving to much love =C

        • I think you can see DS’s and Wii’s love in their selling charts…

  • DudeOnly

    Sora no kiseki or YS7

    • malek86

Also, Brandish. I’ve been dying to try it out, but the possibility of a western release is keeping me at bay.

      • I hope they crowdsource the translation to me and my Brandish team, much like what Rising Star is doing with the Spanish release of Fragile Dreams. I only spent a year translating Brandish 2!!!!

Well, as long as they get Dela and Ares right, I don’t care too much for the rest. But it’ll be interesting to see how literal they go with the names, i.e.:

        – Bytohl vs B-TOWL (instead of Berimya)
        – Bistall vs Bistlle (instead of Berebus)
        – Toraernos (Ares’ last name, new to Brandish PSP)
        – Delon is Dela’s last name
        – Couple more like Gadie, Gayla

Brandish has one of the best sountracks on the PSP so far, and you even revert to the original PC-98 score for maximum retro enjoyment.

Now don’t you make me too hyped for it. Because if it doesn’t come here, it will hurt a lot more.

          • Just buy the Japanese and the eventual (hopefully!) U.S. release! Like me! :)

@denpanosekai: I need to find a way to create a replica Brandish 2 cart with your patch! Aiiieee!!!

    • jj984jj

      Or both!

  • Trotmeister

Someone should release that goddamn Growlanser already. >=/

    • Ereek

      It’s not happening, though.

  • ShinGundam

    Sora no kiseki plz :(

  • Big no-no typo in the title-o, Spencerooni.

  • cj_iwakura

    • Hraesvelgr

      I would day one that.

      • Kunio_kun

I would day one decade ago that!
But Atlus USA will never give us G1, they will just keep re-releasing Persona 3 instead…
Didn’t you know that the U.S. branch secretly hates Urushihara?

    • JeremyR

For the love of God, no. No one except a handful of people likes it. Companies keep bringing them over and they bomb massively. They’re awful, awful games.

      • Ereek

Funny you should say that, since the best gamers in the series haven’t even been localized (1 and 4) while the worst have (2 and 5).

        • cj_iwakura

Except Growlanser 2 is the best in the series.

          • Ereek

I couldn’t disagree more. 2 is like a bad fanfiction. 1 is amazing, however.

      • Kunio_kun

        – “For the love of God, no. No one except a handful of people likes it. Companies keep bringing them over and they bomb massively. They’re awful, awful games.”

^ This is an awful, awful post.
Do companies (two) keep bringing them over (twice) and they bomb? Are you basing that on sales or review write-ups?
The Growlanser Generations released by WD might not have sold to original expectations since they were licensing two games but forced by SCEA to release them in one package.
The Growlanser Generations released by Atlus USA as Heritage of War was part 1 of a 2 part story that spanned G5 and G6. It also marked the low point in the series, quality-wise. Atlus USA knew that the series had only cult status in the States at that point and decided to release a single-print run from the very start, thus sealing it’s fate as a harder to find and lower selling title. Then they pass on localizing G6…

  • symytry

    Zwei, Ys, Brandish….line em up!

  • I’ve heard rambling of both Legend of Heroes SNK and Ys 7 coming. Ys, I’m definitely getting (though I’d prefer the Felghana port). Is SNK any good? why is it different or better than other RPGs?

  • Kunio_kun

PLEASE tell me you’re hinting at Lunar Zero or Lunar 3!!!
Who am I kidding, we’ll get Eternal Blue Harmony and a dozen more remakes of TSS before my grandchildren will ever see Lunar 3…
Here’s hoping we do get an English remake of Walking/Magic School…

    • Lunar 0/3 is up to Game Arts Japan… and they said it depends on Lunar SSH sales / “the fans”.

      • Kunio_kun

I realize they have already stated that, hence the tongue-in-cheek plea/post…

  • nyoron

I just want Retro Game Challenge 2 :(

    • kupomogli

I want to see this too. I loved the first game. It got kind of bad sales though.

  • I wish we would get Growlanser 1… I don’t see why ATLUS JP would deny a US company the right to publish it. ATLUS USA just doesn’t find it profitable, which is understandable. It’s a niche title.

Nonetheless, XSeeD is awesome and have put out solid titles so far, so let’s see where this goes :D

    • JeremyR

Why? Why would anyone publish that when the series has been published twice before and bombed? Why not bring over something that people might not hate?

Heck, you could make a case it was the series that killed Working Designs. Not their last game (that was some shooter, IIRC), but I think their last big game/RPG. But the games are so awful, not even SRPG fans bought them.

      • cj_iwakura

You’re wrong here: Victor himself said that Growlanser Generations sold very well, much better than Heritage(Because it was mediocre at best).

It just didn’t sell well enough to make up for the long gap in sales they had because of SCEA’s moronic policy of the time that made them release 2 & 3 as one bundle.

        • Kunio_kun

CJ, obviously JeremyR doesn’t know what he’s talking about on the subject…
You’re correct on the Growlanser bunching being detrimental, and then the nail in the coffin was Goemon getting screwed by SCEA.

  • CIN

    Sora pleaseeee! :)

  • epy

    Eternal Blue PSP please.

    • Kunio_kun

      It’s inevitable… :)

  • Joanna

First that nice Metal Gear limited PSP announcement and now Xseed. I just know I’m going to give in and buy a PSP this summer and have even less of a social life. sigh.
