imageIt’s not quite Dragon Quest X, but Square Enix has Dragon Quest news for Wii owners. Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road is coming home.

Today, Square Enix announced Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road Victory, an adaptation of their popular arcade game. The Wii version supports multiplayer battles with up to four players and online card fights over Nintendo Wi-Fi. Players can use a nunchuck/remote or classic controller configurations.

Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road Victory is due in stores this summer. A DSiWare utility called a “color code scanner” is also planned. This app allows players to scan physical cards, used for the arcade game, with their Nintendo DSi and transfer them into the Wii game.

Haha, I thought so. Why would they reveal DQX on that show?

It wasn’t mentioned that it was related to the Tama-show rumor. I think this is seperate news.

I don’t know, I think it does have a chance at localization. It’s a Wii-game of a franchise finding stronger and stronger roots in the western market. I’m positive the scanner won’t make it over here though, I don’t think the DQ cards are even distributed in the west.

  • This sounds amazing. Dragon quest seems to have found a new home on nintendo platforms
