Microsoft has a new Xbox 360 Elite Value Pack for Japan. The last bundle came with Ace Combat 6 and Lost Planet Colonies. An upcoming package has Forza Motorsport 3 and Bayonetta.

The news leaked out from a Japanese retailer which has the bundle in their online catalog. The price? 29,000 yen ($310). Bayonetta and Forza Motorsport 3 are full price games in Japan too retailing for over 7,000 yen a piece ($75). Not a bad deal, but will Japan bite?

With Gran Turismo around the corner and Bayonetta being available on PS3, I seriously doubt this bundle will create massive 360 sales in Japan.

But… Bayonetta (one of the awesomest games ever mind you) is Better on the Xbox 360. Don’t you want to play the Best? ;)

I’ve got a copy for both systems. After that last patch, the differences between them are quite minor. Definitely not what I call a system seller :]

Games themselves cost quite a bit in japan so I doubt the Japanese will like the thought of paying for live. Also with titles like the “Final Fantasy” series being mainly Playstation exclusives it will also put them off buying an Xbox. Thats just my opinion, project Natal might be big in Japan so I don’t know. :P

Ah yes, MS tries yet another way to get people to buy a 360, yet this one will inevitably fail as well. The only 360 bundles I EVER saw anyone take an interest in was the Tales of Vesperia bundle, and the Star Ocean bundle. Yet these were limited edition units that sold out immediately and thus could not be obtained after save for the used market.

Yet the very fact that they DID sell out, and did so with such gusto, is a clear indication that the collector/otaku market would have bought more of the bundles, and thus Microsoft/SE/Namco or all three were just plain foolish to undersupply them.
