Demon’s Souls Only Available As A Limited Edition In Europe

imageOn June 25, Demon’s Souls warps into Europe with red box art and, yes, Namco Bandai Partners is distributing it.

Namco Bandai’s European arm officially announced Demon’s Souls today and their exclusive limited edition retail pack. This bundle contains Demon’s Souls, a soundtrack CD, a hardcover artbook, and strategy guide. Europe’s Demon’s Souls bundle appears similar to the “Stop Importing It” edition Atlus released last year. However, Namco Bandai promises a new artbook and strategy guide.

“The game is exactly the kind of quality experience with which we are continuing to grow the Namco Bandai Games portfolio of titles, and we will be working hard to ensure it’s at least as much of a success in our markets as it has already proven to be elsewhere,” Oliver Comte, VP Marketing of Sales & Publishing, lauded. Comte and the press release didn’t say if Europe’s experience will include new servers.

Not so limited if it’s the only thing available. More than likely this will make the Deluxe Edition in the US less valuable.

I think Namco Bandai should do what Atlus did. “Each copy of Devil Summoner 2 is going to be sold in an individually numbered collectible casing and packaged with a rare Raiho doll.” Then release about a million copies of Demon’s Souls. Put RARE on the front of every box. For Devil Summoner 2, at DP they think between 50,000 or 60,000.

…I’m considering buying this for the box art alone even though I have the deluxe US edition… Seriously, a hardcover art book while we get the the paperback? And DAMN that is one beautiful cover.

I just noticed if you look closely at the cover. It says “Black Phantom Edition” on the front of the box. Black Phantoms ftw.

Btw. I hate people who camp for Black Phantoms. What bi***es. You attack as a black phantom and then you’ll never find them within the stage. You’ll always find them with two blue phantoms camping right there at the beginning of the stage. If you happen to kill a Blue Phantom the player will play defense only until the other one gets back there to lay a soul sign and summon him back so you’ve got no choice but to attack just the player.

I’ve never summoned one blue phantom to help me fight Black Phantoms. I’ve only died from a Black Phantom twice. One I was attacked by, the other was one time I used the Red Stone as a duel, so I fought as a phantom with reduced stats while the other person fought as a player(I was so close to winning.)

I think in Demon’s Souls 2, you should only be able to summon two Blue Phantoms each time you defeat a boss or after exiting/reentering the area. This way stops the campers and you only need to kill three people instead of about fifty(hypothetically.)

  • im getting this one!!

I like it. Maybe I’ll import, even though I already have the Deluxe Edition. Hmm. I prefer the red cover to Atlus’ blue.

Someone importing a PAL game? Well I’ve never. Usually it’s the other way around.

Unless it’s some title only available in Europe, like Eternia PSP.

Anyway, since this will probably cost no less than 60€ (around 85$), and that’s if you’re lucky, be prepared to shell out some cash.

      • Ereek

I’ve imported a few PAL games before! I’m prepared for the cost, for example Agarest’s Special Edition put me out $90 total (shipping and the like). The poor PAL version of Agarest was butchered by Ghostlight, though. I also imported Breath of Fire III PSP, even though I own the PSX version, because it’s in my top 5 favorite games of all time. Eternia I never got around to importing.

Thank you for the warning, though.

        • What is the best place to import PAL games from? I’ve only ever been able to grab Glass Rose (PAL PS2) from Amazon.UK and only because I contacted the actual seller as Amazon.UK didn’t allow me to purchase from the page directly in the US. I own the Demon’s Souls LE already but I love it so much I want this version too! :)

          • Ereek

Hmm. You might want to try NCSX. They don’t have it up now but they might later. You can also file special requests with them. They can be a tad bit overpriced on imports with high demand, though.

   also ships to North America.

          • Thanks for your help. I found that DVD.CO.UK ships to North America for £2 and sell the game for £36.xx. All in all it will cost me only $59.xx. :)

      • Another Code: R might be the first one I seriously get around to importing from Europe. I was considering getting that awesome Spirit Tracks box UK got, too. Oh, and virtually every PAL box art makes me want the European version instead. >_>

  • I’m not gonna lie, that is indeed a sexy package.

Aswm!! Like this cover more than the NA one.
Where you guys gonna get it? Can’t seem to find it anywhere.
