Here’s Hatsune Miku Rendered On A PlayStation 3

By Spencer . April 23, 2010 . 1:18am

Sega has a summer treat for Hatsune Miku fans. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva – Dream Theater takes the Vocaloid idol out of the PSP and brings her to a bigger screen. Literally.

You need a copy of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, a PSP (no PSPgos, sorry), USB cable, PlayStation 3, and the Dream Theater program to make this work. Once everything is connected, Hatsune Miku is rendered on your TV with PlayStation 3 quality graphics. All saved data from the PSP game transfers over so you can have a PS3 performance of a custom song with Dream Theater.

Even if you’re not a Hatsune Miku fan, this is a neat app. Imagine what Sega could do with their other PSP games like Crush and Valkyria Chronicles 2. The PlayStation Network download arrives in Japan this summer. Pricing has not been announced.

  • Nice! Looks like the non-PV songs got updated with PVs! (Electric Angel and Hatsune Miku no Soushitsu as shown).

  • would be awesome just to be able to play it without the notes becoming all choppy

  • Gestahl

    CAN’T WAIT!!!!

    GOTY for me.

  • Wow, hatsune miku in 3D.

  • This wasn’t too bad of a “beat” game at all. I had fun with it and this will just breathe some more life into replaying it. Interesting, SEGA.

  • Pretty cool, but lol, thats bad for psp go users, pretty weird, advance console, and it still loses some privileges

  • 5parrowhawk

Chibi-Miku on my desk is waving her onion in anticipation. This might finally motivate me to get off my butt and finish that PV I started.

I expect Dream Theater will be paid “DLC” (more like a mini-app, but since it works only with Project Diva…) – any idea of the price?
