Metroid: Other M Slips Out Of June, Sin & Punishment: Star Successor Also Delayed

By Spencer . April 23, 2010 . 12:39pm

Other_M_03Sorry, Metroid fans. You’re going to have to wait two more months for Metroid: Other M. Nintendo rescheduled Team Ninja’s take on Metroid from sometime in June to August 31. Metroid: Other M has a vague summer release window in Japan.

Sin & Punishment: Star Successor got sacked too, but not as far back as Metroid: Other M. The game will be a few weeks late launching on June 27 instead of June 7. PAL gamers still get Sin & Punishment: Star Successor, called Sin & Punishment: Successor to the Skies on May 7.

While FlingSmash aka Span Smasher has a floating “summer” release, Nintendo of America did not indicate a release date on their updated schedule.

I was wondering what was up with the close release dates. S&P would have most likely gotten lost with the close release of Mario Galaxy 2. Even with Metroid in June as well.

So I guess it’s cool? I know my wallet is glad.

That’s good, I hope Sakamoto is making sure Team Ninja does a good job with their idea to throw 3D into the mix.

I can wait, just to fix bugs, glitches, and putting in finishing touches, but not to the point of singing, “I don’t wanna wait for our lives to be over…” http://bit.ly/SwUcd

I wonder how much difference is there btwn the US & Jpn ver. of S&P. I was waiting for the US release, but I stopped by Book Off last night and happened to see a used copy (pretty much like new) for $35, so I just grabbed it along w/ 428 Shibuya for $25.. the cashier chked me if I own a Jpn system too lol

Not that it matters much to me now but when I was in grade school I always hated Nintendo’s release dates and if I still was this would be no different. Got to say I still HATE the Sunday console launches, who wants to spend half the morning standing in line only to have a paltry few hours to play your new games before going back to work or school on Monday?
