Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Soaring To Consoles?

By Spencer . April 26, 2010 . 12:46pm

imageIn addition to Ace Combat: Joint Assault, Namco Bandai has another Ace Combat game in development. The publisher trademarked Ace Combat: Assault Horizon for use with video games, ROM cartridges, and the like in Europe.

This is just a guess, but Assault Horizon seems like a console Ace Combat game. Namco Bandai already made an Ace Combat Xi: Skies of Incursion for the iPhone and Ace Combat: Joint Assault is for PSP, which was also trademarked before it was announced. The last Ace Combat game for consoles was released in 2007, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation (pictured).

But wait, if Project Aces is working on Ace Combat: Joint Assault who is developing Ace Combat: Assault Horizon?

ROM cartridge? Sounds like 3DS to me. ;)

Also, Project Aces tends to outsource a lot of their workload to Access Games. They co-developed both The Sky Crawlers and Ace Combat X, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they were actually behind Joint Strike as well.

If it were for console, it would probably be multiplatform.

On that note, I’ve always wondered, why didn’t AC6 eventually make its way to the PS3 like all the other Namco exclusives for 360?

well far as i know Ace Combat Fires of Liberation didnt come to Ps3 because they wanted to attract new players from the 360 and tbh they done quite well.
The success was good enough to even put the USA airforce and army (think it was the army too) to play the game in co-op and vs them and civilians to play with each and against each other on the xbox live.

i was abit sad to see Ace Combat going o 360 and not Ps3 cause hell, ace combat games been on PS for a long BUT happy at the same time since the game had a great success

now if they do this Multiplatform we can expect a great game for sure.
to bad PS3 users and 360 cant fight each on the net that would be cool to see heheh
