Blazblue: Continuum Shift Release Not Shifted, Still Summer [Update]Aksys slyly announced a Blazblue: Continuum Shift delay. When they confirmed a North American release the game was slated for summer.

 

Tucked away in the press release for the arcade stick was a new release window – fall 2010. Arc System Works still has Blazblue: Continuum Shift listed for July 1.

 

We’re not sure why the game way delayed, but if we hear anything back from Aksys we’ll update this post.

 

Update: False alarm. I contacted Aksys about the press release which read, “Aksys Games, a publisher of interactive entertainment products, proudly announces BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, coming Fall 2010!” A representative from Aksys said the release date was a typo and we’re still on for Summer 2010.

    It'll irritate the fans, but at first blush this looks like a smart move for Aksys. While I'm sure all the die-hard BB fans would have picked it up anyway, a much larger potential audience would still be occupied with SSFIV.

    maybe is for the sticks to appear at the same times as the game? i think they werent supposed to go out at the same time, until now

    Umm… the PC version is just an emulation of the arcade version, which doesn't have all of the features or all of the characters that CS has. So who cares if people are playing it?

    Well this kind of sucks, I was counting on Blazblue to hold me off till Halo Reach comes out in the fall. :

    I'll probably be playing nothing but Reach around the time it comes out, Still picking up day one though. Rachel <3

    Don't worry guys, that was just a misprint. The release is still on for Summer 2010 :D

    Because those of us that play a character that is in the arcade version can get some practice in on the new system. 1 Character isn't gonna make that much of a difference.
