Cozy Okada’s Latest Game

image You may know him as the father of MegaTen. Kids these days know Cozy Okada for Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner and mobile phone games. The last time we checked up on Gaia, Okada’s new studio, they were developing iPhone games.

Gaia… is still making iPhone games. They just released Sword & Poker II, a bizarre, but addictive blend of poker and an RPG with cutesy characters. Sword & Poker II is on a launch sale right now so you can get it for $1.99. Usually, Sword & Poker II goes for $3.99.

Nintendo also linked up with Gaia to publish Cosmic Walker, an outer space action game for the Wii. The game appeared in a teaser video, but Nintendo hasn’t said anything about it in over a year.

Monster Hunter? Really? I believe its called Monster Kingdom! :D

I think I’m not the only one that would love if he got back into megaten and stopped doing those iphone games…

Yeah. Whenever, “I wonder what Cozy Okada’s been up to…” pops into my head that thought is usually abruptly followed by, “Oh, how the mighty have fallen…” He has done some odd, interesting things like Folklore and Coded Soul but I sure do miss the Cozy flavored Megaten.

  • Mazen

They say its an RPG but this is no RPG its just a poker battle after poker battle with nearly zero story and no towns or such.

It’s weird, I’m the only person I know who’s ever played Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner, yet it’s in my PSP top 10.

You’re definitely not the only person who’s played it, but you probably are the only person who has it in their PSP top 10. The game wasn’t all that good.

      • lucy1986

aww come on, it was ace! Okay, so it was maybe at the lowest end of the scale but hey, I found it pretty addictive……..and I bought the artbook….yeah

  • Kris

The art’s kinda neat, maybe I’ll check it out!
