Neptune, Compile Heart’s RPG about moe console wars, alludes to companies like Nippon Ichi and Gust, but has a more direct connection with Sega. Some of Sega’s archived characters will make a cameo in Neptune.
We’re not sure which ones though because this news comes from a leak. Game Star’s product page says retro characters from Sega will be revived for Neptune’s world. Since the word “revived” was used I wouldn’t count on Sonic and other popular Sega characters making an appearance in Neptune. Forgotten mascots like Alex Kidd are probably game, though.
Game Star also mentions a neat photo feature. Players can summon pictures from their PlayStation 3 photo album in battle! Photos can also change costumes, but Game Star doesn’t go into any details on how this works.
