PSP Getting Line Up Of $9.99 Retail Games

By Spencer . May 16, 2010 . 2:31pm

image PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe was just the beginning. Sony Computer Entertainment America is planning to re-release some first party titles into stores and sell them for a mere $9.99.

A script for an upcoming TV commercial has the news and mentions some of the titles. Hot Shots Golf, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo, and Twisted Metal: Head On are shown in a video montage.

These are old games, but it appears Sony is targeting the iPhone market with this commercial . The script starts out with, “Dear PSP, check out this sweet game I got for my iPhone.”

Wow. Now that’s desperation on Sony’s part. And that’ll be great for us gamers!

      Hear, hear~!!

  • I don’t really want any of those games but the deal is solid. Actually, a lot of PSP games I saw lately (mostly Gamestop because elsewhere’s stock of PSP games are embarrassingly small) are good deals. It is unfortunate these games drop like a rock but those getting the handheld it is great impulse buying to start a collection.

I wonder if they’ll have alternative packagings. If so… (grumble)… gotta collect those originals… (grumble).

  • Hot Shots is all that interests me there for now, I love me a good golf game now and then.

  • Dear Sony: Patchwork Heroes, s’il vous plaît. I’ll preorder it. thx!

  • I bought Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe right away… and I’ll probably buy all the $9.99 games they want to release on UMD, $10 physical games are almost instant impulse buys for me.
