Final Fantasy IX On PlayStation Network Right Now

By Spencer . May 20, 2010 . 12:56am

imageOn April 1, Square Enix announced, over Twitter, Final Fantasy IX would be re-released on PlayStation Network. Today, it’s on the PlayStation Store.

You can revisit Vivi’s quest for identity if you have 1,500 yen ($16) and 1,550MB of hard drive space on your PSP or PlayStation 3. Final Fantasy IX is compatible with both systems.

Or wait a few (insert time period here) until Final Fantasy IX makes its way overseas. Square Enix confirmed a release in North America, but didn’t announce a release date..

I have 400 yen left. If I had 500, I could just get another 1000 yen card and be done with it. But oh well. Anybody know of something I could buy with 400 yen? Everything decent seems to be 500 yen and upward.

lol, same thing happened to me before, I had 400 yen left in my acct. forever and 100 short of getting the Heavy Rain taxidermist DLC. I couldn’t get anything and at one point was tempted to blow it on the 300 yen RoF Reanbell (Leanne) piggy theme but told myself it was a rip off. So I went and got a 3000 yen card for $42, so 1500 yen would be like $21 effective for me.. I saw this up on Jpn PSN last night, even though I really want this (my Jpn PS copy would not work on the US PS3), the Jpn text was actually much bigger in FFIX and easier to read than in Eng too.. I’m going to save my precious yen for future Heavy Rain DLC..

I realize that, it’ll be cheaper for $9.99 and it’s not like I can’t wait for an old game. But FFIX is a game I want to play in Jpn, it was one of the FFs I played the Jpn ver. first back then (VII, VIII, & X I played in Eng. first, then replayed in Jpn)
