Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 Release Sacked With A Delay

By Spencer . May 20, 2010 . 5:48pm

Sega’s plan was to release Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 this summer. That’s not happening anymore. Sega delayed the downloadable Sonic game to tweak it.

The additional development time will be used to tweak, balance, tune, and polish Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 so it feels like a classic Sonic game. Unfortunately this also means Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 won’t arrive on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, WiiWare or iPhone (officially confirmed today) until “late 2010.”

Here’s a brief look at what you’ll be able to play much later this year.

Well that’s good. Cause the levels I saw, kind of sucked(Mine cart…comes to mind)

Hopefully when it comes out, it will be good.

  • BK0000

No amount of time will save this piece of trash.

  • Is this a marketing strategy!? because is not working! D:

Also i just cant never get tired of the sound the rings makes when you collect them

  • Gimps worked on plenty of 2d Sonic games before, I wonder why the phyiscs engine gives them so much trouble this time.

Also, while I’m a sucker for Sonic, I believe this episodeic format will leave a very bad taste, not just my moth. Sonic games need a certain length to be enjoyed to the fullest, something a single episode probably won’t be able to povide.
