Front Mission Evolved Leaping Out In Stereoscopic 3D

By Spencer . May 24, 2010 . 9:32pm

Square Enix set September 14 as the date for Front Mission Evolved. Unlike other Front Mission games this is a third person shooter where you, as Dylan Ramsey, defend the U.C.S.’ orbital elevators inside a Wanzer. Players can customize their Wanzer, equip leg parts to move through different terrain plus select weapons for your mech’s hands and shoulders.

Front Mission Evolved will also be the first Front Mission game in stereoscopic 3D. However, 3D is only for the PC version and people who own a NVIDIA 3D Vision supported card. A long, long time ago Squaresoft was big on 3D. Remember Rad Racer and the headache inducing 3D World Runner games for the NES?

  • Well, I guess Square-Enix has made their call, now time for the people to go buy 3D TVs. :/ Just wait til FFXV comes at us in total 3D. Everyone knows that they already have this thing in development so they can proclaim again that it took 4-5 years to get it done.

    • Trotmeister

Uh, dude. PC games had 3D for quite some time now. It’s NVIDIA’s thing, it has got nothing to do with 3D TVs.

  • MisterNiwa

    This game will be bad.

    • Hraesvelgr

Well! Thanks for coming from the future to inform those of us who haven’t played the game yet!

Not that I’m really expecting much from the game, but… you know… it isn’t even out yet.

      • MisterNiwa

Geez, let me be realistic. It wont be a real Front Mission, that equals in being bad.

    • Ereek

I sure wish I could see into the future, too.

Edit: Damn, beaten by a minute.

      • MisterNiwa

        *shakes head*

This game has fail written all over it.

        Starting from the Developer.

    • BrotherCavil

I will so laugh when the high scores start rolling in.Cause, if I remember anything, Nier has taught – or rather SHOULD’VE taught – the lot of you that pre-judgments = a possible kick to the groins of shame. :3

      • MisterNiwa

Even if it turns out to be “decent” which wouldnt be the case, I’d still dont care because I could care less about this game.

Its an insult to the previous Front Missions.

        • FM Evolved’s only legitimate concern is Double Helix because the genre change point is utterly moot. FM as a series isn’t afraid of change (this also applies to the turn-based entries) and the third-person shooter genre was already done before in Online.
