How to Save Nessa in BG3 (Baldur’s Gate 3)

There are a slew of memorable characters in Baldur’s Gate 3 that players fall in love with quite fast. For me, one of the characters is Nessa, a person you would normally have to kill when you meet her in the Gauntlet of Shar area. But is there a way to save Nessa in BG3 from her tragic fate?

Can You Save Nessa in BG3?

The question remains: can you save Nessa in the Gauntlet of Shar? The answer is surprisingly a hopeful one. Yes, you are able to save Nessa in this game. However, you should know that it is going to take a few steps and a fair bit of protective work to make sure she stays alive. Fortunately, you are not alone in any of this, as we are going to help you out with exactly what you need to do.

How to Save Nessa

The mission to save Nessa in BG3 all starts by not starting the events here with Yurgir. What you want to do is first examine the massive spider corpse you can find in her nest. Do this twice to learn about Nessa’s (the displaced beast) captivity, which usually requires two checks. At this point, you have two options: do an unbelievable roll 30 dice check to get her on your side or use a party member who has Speak With Animals.

Either way will work, though the latter is preferred. Once you do this, Nessa will essentially be part of your team for the duration of the fight. The goal now is to keep her alive the entire time and win the fight against Yurgir. This is quite the challenge, as you will likely have to heal her often. But if you succeed in all of this, you will have saved Nessa and can be proud of that.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
