The Final Fantasy XIII… Karaoke Room

By Spencer . May 28, 2010 . 1:43pm

imageSquare Enix re-launched Final Fantasy XIII in Hong Kong and South Korea, which means more awkward tie-ins.

In Hong Kong, karaoke box company Neway has Final Fantasy XIII themed rooms. Director Motomu Toriyama and Producer Yoshinori Kitase stopped by to commemorate the promotion. From wall to wall, everything in these rooms are Final Fantasy XIII. Even the microphones have the game’s logo.

Neway also equipped these special rooms with PlayStation 3s and HDTVs with Final Fantasy XIII just in case patrons are tired of singing. Here’s a look inside.

I wonder if 5 million sales is really enough to make back the insane amount of money they have poured into marketing….

Funny Kitase and Co. all look like kung fu masters :), imagine them singing “Kimi ga Iru kara” together… it’s been years since I’ve done karaoke…The Chinese version’s cover is actually very nice, it’s the pose of Lightning they have on the vinyl and on the US game disc. That’s even better than the US cover.… I think I might pick it up if it goes on sale later, have spent too much on FFXIII alrdy…

    • I cant belive but i might buy it for the 3rd time XD …… it has eng subtitles XD lalala , jap track and subs , it exists !:/ but im not sure ill buy another collectors XD …… spending way too much money on this really XD dam you squeenix XD !

I know, another collector’s edition would be overkill, S-E took enough of my money arldy :), I’m considering picking up the “plus” rearranged soundtrack too, the game wasn’t my fav, but I liked the music.. The box says Chinese + English, I know it’s Jpn track w/ Chinese/Eng/Korean sub, but I wonder if they mean full Eng. text is an option.. I only know the official page says the HK ver. works w/ your current save files from either the Jpn or US ver.I don’t think I would buy this yet again though unless it goes on sale, frankly I really don’t feel like playing this game for the 3rd time if you know what I mean :) I haven’t even finished the US ver. yet, just got to Gran Pulse and stopped.

Can they sing Kimi ga Iru Kara in there? =p

    • Aoshi00

For a FFXIII themed karaoke joint, they better have that song on the list lol..BTW, for those who are interested in the gameplay videos of the Chinese ver, here are two posted on NCSX, switch to 720p and you’ll see the text clearly :) Pretty neat. This might just be the very first Asian version of a game I would ever buy.. The limited edition bundle is very cool, but I alrdy have the soundtrack, and I’m not too crazy about the controller.. I want those avatar DLC though, hopefully they’d be sold on PSN later on..

  • Should look like a hallway or tunnel.

I’m just waiting for someone to put one of the controllers on ebay :D More games should have controllers like that.

    • Aoshi00

someone’s put it up on ebay now..…I have a strange urge of getting this LE, dang my collector’ instinct :(… but I alrdy blew a lot of money on FFXIII alrdy (Jpn ver, US ver, OST, novel, guide..) The only thing is the chars’ names are translated kindly differently than what I’ve seen before..

      • karasuKumo

I feel the same about collector instinct haha I will get one eventually, thanks for the link :D Yeah I got the Collectors Edition game, that was a disappointment :P pointless decals, postcard size prints and a small book of more pictures haha

        • Aoshi00

No prob man. You mean the Euro LE right? I know, they don’t even have a true artbook, just the CG shots, wonder how actually would use that l’cie tattoo sticker. I like the group images that’s printed on the DLC cards in the HK LE though, 4 types, but you only get one.. Right now there’s even a 2nd OST, PLUS, that has the Eng. version of the chocobo theme park song, but other “arranged” version of the music don’t seem to be worth it, but I like that cover.…It really makes me wonder if there’s a lot of actual Nomura drawings for the chars.. btw, I’m getting this baby now, I love Nier :) I heard it’s filled w/ info/interview/drawings/timeline,
