K-On After School Live Brings More Button Tapping To PSP

By Spencer . June 2, 2010 . 12:04pm

K On After School Live Brings More Button Tapping To PSPSega, following up on the success of Hatsune Miku: Project Diva, has another niche music/rhythm game planned for PSP and this one is based on the anime series K-On!

In K-On After School Live you make music by pushing buttons. This is another follow the song and hit the notes game with a Monster Hunter twist. That’s right, K-On After School Live has a cooperative ad-hoc mode. Each player can pick one of the five Tea Time music club members and play their part. K-On After School Live blends the five streams into a single song sort of like Rock Band.

K-On After School Live is scheduled for release in Japan this fall.

    K-ON!*

I read the words “Monster Hunter” and was down. But really it doesn’t have any relation, so I’m not down anymore. I’ve never seen K-on, so….I guess I’m outside the target audience.

It seems that nowadays, “Monster Hunter” has become synonimous for “cooperative”.

This is looking interesting. I wonder what the track list will be like, I hope the tracks from Azusa and Ritsu’s character CDs make it onto it.

I’d prefer HTT: Rock Band or Gitah Hero, but this will do nicely.

Playing Fuwa Fuwa Time (fanmade transcription that’s pretty close to the original) on Band Brothers is pretty damn hard. If they manage to capture that sort of challenge level, this could be interesting.

Also, it would be hilarious if they had a (unlockable?) Sawa-chan mode where you get to dress the band members up.

Wahoo! The K-On game is actually a music game instead of some visual adventure (which I am not 100% opposed to). It looks like SEGA is reusing the Project Diva engine for the game.

nyoron – You’re right….Sega totally should have licensed the Rock Band engine for this game.
