Hold That List! Square Enix Has Another E3 Announcement

By Spencer . June 10, 2010 . 12:40am

That E3 line up Square Enix sent us earlier today wasn’t complete. Necromachina, a cooperative side scroller with futuristic ninja and giant bosses, is also going to be at the show.

Necromachina was shown in this week’s issue of Famitsu under the name Moon Diver. Feelplus, the makers of Lost Odyssey and more recently No More Heroes: Heroes’ Paradise, are developing Necromachina for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Necromachina looks like Shadow of the Ninja with Contra’s deformed monster design in 2.5D. Definitely curious about this game now.

I like platformers but I can’t say this interested me in the least.

    umm yay?

Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Black…Super Sentai?!

Looks pretty good, so there’s 4-player co-op like NSMB Wii? reminds a little of Strider.. wonder if it’s the same artist of Sigma Harmonics, and that’s not a good thing :(..

  • I was really excited once I first heard about this, but that trailer’s left me a bit cold. I don’t know what I was expecting or what I would have been looking for instead, though.

…I think it’s partially because people were originally calling it 2D, and me being a dreamer idiot coupled with S-E’s financial clout, I expected big painted 2D sprites on big painted 2D backgrounds. Vanillaware-style.

  • Might be fun to play with friends ;D

Looks good. My random game comparisons would be Strider 2 mixed with Turtles in Time.

You guys and your dumb comments

I’m a little skeptical cause it’s Square Enix, but I dunno, it might be worth a try.

My brother and I are always looking for co-op games, and beat-em-ups like this are his favorite genre. Looks like I’ll wait for a demo before I pull the trigger, though.

Very reminiscint of Contra Shattered Soldier but with Fantasy Anime style characters. It looks awesome as it is but i’m hoping it has somewhat of a mature theme to it and isn’t totally silly like Neo Contra.

rar, hey nice, a co-op platformer, which looks like it falls somewhere between contra and mega man — count me in! I’m glad to see some 2D platformers, particularly co-op games turn up lately >w<!

Am I the only one who thinks this could be awesome? Or am I the only one who has buddies to play multiplayer with this with?
