Kinect Sports, Dance Central, And Minority Report Style Controls In Motion

Microsoft released a lifestyle video of Kinect (previously Project Natal) with footage of a few games. The first game demoed is Kinect Adventures where two players control a jumping river raft. The track & field running game is from Kinect Sports, a camera controlled take on Wii Sports. The final game in the montage is Dance Central.

From a video alone, it’s hard to tell if the Kinect games are anything special, but those hold-your-hand up to stop the movie video controls are neat.

From this video this is 100% Eyetoy the one we were playing since when….2003?4?

I have zero interest in the wiisports/eyetoy type crap games. The gestures would be cool for moving around in the dashboard and game menus, but I’m not buying a Natal just for gestures.

  • Can’t watch video where i’m seeing this so a question.

Is there a pause to the controls? Or is everyone going to have to sit still and not reach for anything because this will interpret it as some command.
