v-13 Is An Unlockable Unlimited Character In BlazBlue: Continuum Shift

By Spencer . June 25, 2010 . 5:08pm

imageΛ-11- was a replacement for v-13- in arcades, but both characters are in the console version. v-13 is an “unlimited character”, which can be unlocked just by playing BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. If you can’t unlock her, you will be able to buy her via DLC.

Makoto, a brand new squirrel-girl, is available only as downloadable content. Aksys says you will be able to fight against Makoto, thanks to an online patch, but you won’t be able to play as Makoto unless you purchase the DLC.

No new on how much Makoto costs, though. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift will retail for $39.99 when it comes out on July 27.

wish i knew how you unlock her and i guess an unlimited form keeps her from showing up online?

  • Advent_Andaryu

I can’t wait for this game. I loved using v-13 in CT! I hated when people spammed her swords, but mastering her was a lot of fun! :D

  • BrotherCavil

That’s two down, two more new characters to go.

    Comooon Valkenhayn!

  • Guest

I read that as “Unblockable Unlimited Character” and thought: “NEED OF NERF ALREADY? F***.”

  • andref

But can unlimited characters now be used online?! If so that would break up the balance of the game

    • Nite

It’d be just like BBCT; where Unlimited are disabled in ranked and only allowed in player matches unless the host enables them.

  • nyobzoo

the DLC is too expensive. It’s 560 MSP, that’s like 6/7 bucks for 1 character :O

    • Code

Any source? Juicy information that isn’t even on the official faq, without a source T_T’ why would you do this to us!

      • Nite

I think it’s from someone’s twitter. You can find it somewhere on Dustloop forums. I’d try and find it again but there’s way too much info in the past week for me to bother looking for it though.

Also that’s the price for it in Japan. I’m probably being too optimistic, but maybe it’ll be cheaper for us.

        • Code

rar, yeah I found it on referred to on Dustloop afterwards, but not the exact post/source. Oh well if it’s good enough for Dustloop, it’s good enough for me >w<! Still very pricey — I feel mixed.

See I can get behind this. I was worried that Nu would be a DLC character, but it makes sense that she’s just Lambda’s Unlimited Form, since they pretty much share the same animations and moves. This was a good way to bring Nu back! Hopefully it’ll change her voice stuff with Ragna, too (which Lambda doesn’t do).

This is so freaking great! (No sarcasm) As stated already, Unlimited means that she’s kept out of ranked play (for whining and fairness sake) while leaving her playable otherwise. In addition, means I won’t have to pay extra money to have the Nu I know and love~

Continuum Shift just gets better and better! :D Here’s to hoping for even more DLC character announcements!

  • FireCouch

Why do they make you buy a character? You bought the game, they should give you the character.

  • ForeverFidelis

    Ugh…

I don’t like the idea f having to pay for DLC characters, but I’ll probably buy them anyway..

A squirrel girl? Now that’s just nuts.

    • MisterNiwa

      Ohhh you!

      *laughs hard*

  • sasuke222

V-13 was so cheap in the first game.
