By Spencer . June 29, 2010 . 1:11am

imagePlayStation 3 software update 3.40 comes with a truckload of new features like PlayStation Plus, online photo sharing, and the ability to rate PlayStation Network content.

Any purchased content can be awarded one to five stars, so prospective buyers know how great (or not) the game you just bought is.

System update 3.40 is live and it also comes with a fix for the 8001050F clock bug.

One bug, the Video Editor won’t open Playstation Eye videos because it checks whether a video was imported with Firmware 3.40 and won’t open older versions.
Problem, the PS Eye video was not imported, so it doesn’t have the import metadata. The workaround is to export to a USB memory card then import to the menu.

Works for me, though its not always what they tell you they include in these updates that interests me, its what they implement that they don’t tell you.

it only let’s you rate something that you’ve already bought, as to not let people rate everything
