Introducing The Idolm@ster 2

By Spencer . July 5, 2010 . 12:43am

765 Productions is back in business on Xbox 360 with The Idolm@ster 2. The pop idols, a year older, from the previous Idolm@ster games return in the sequel. You’ll work with Haruka and company again with the goal of producing a nationwide idol unit.

As the trailer says, Idolm@ster 2 is slated for spring 2011. Probably more amusing than the official trailer is this Idolm@ster 2 episode starring the Xbox Mission Division.

any mention if this is coming to the west?

    • SupaPhly

there is likely a 0.00000000000000001% chance that Namco Bandai would ever consider releasing any idolmaster game in english

      • malek86

        So you’re telling me there’s a chance!

    • Reimine

The only japanese games that namco bandai release are dragon ball and naruto. Its very rare and imposible to see other games

despite it’s worldwide popularity Pac-Man counts as Japanese as he was born there. digimon and tekken count too.

YESSSSS i want please Namco Bandai bring this to us

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tommy-Lee/518924335 Tommy Lee

Even IF Namco Bandai wanted to bring this over, wouldn’t http://www.siliconera.com/2010/07/02/retailers-refuse-to-carry-anime-games/ be a huge hurdle to overcome?

I don’t think Idolm@ster is based on an anime, so that might not be a factor. I think there is an anime based on the games, but not the other way around.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tommy-Lee/518924335 Tommy Lee

while that’s true, this is one of those other games that retailers are wary of.

the anime was called Idolm@ster Xenoglossia or something like that btw.

Uhh i think the fact this is almost like a dating simand no battles is the main factor why they arent bringing this

          • http://www.facebook.com/people/Tommy-Lee/518924335 Tommy Lee

that’s my point. major retailers don’t want to sell these kind of games, so publishers won’t even think about localizing it.

I thought Live for You was the 2nd game.. Finally some new songs instead of remixes.. I’m not a fan of IdolMaster though, I was really bad at the first game, couldn’t pick the best choice during the conversation part because it’s timed, and I always missed the training mini-games to raise their stats.. also I prefer the songs in Dream Club, these teen idol songs just sound too juvenile and peppy for me.. good to see it being on console again w/ better graphics though.

I wonder if we would get Blue Dragon 2 at all :(…

Ah, the sweet smell of im@s updates in the morning… I just wonder if they’ll cater for the MAD community.

If they do, I’ll probably be one of the first there, because well, recording in HD for video manipulation is just so much fun…
