imageNamco Bandai’s souped-up version of God Eater will be unveiled this weekend at God Eater Fes.

God Eater Burst has new Arigami, the monsters you hunt, including this chap, which Famitsu revealed before the event.

God Eater Burst is slated for release this fall in Japan, which is around the same time Lord of Arcana makes its debut.

I don’t like how everyone is jumping on this Monster Hunter style bandwagon. I’m sure they are good games but eventually they’ll just feel repetitive, I played the Japanese demo of God Eater and I had few complaints so I hope this and Lord of Arcana bring something new.

Everyone wants a piece of Monster Hunter. It’s just that awesome.

EDIT – The game is awesome. The community on the other hand….

The same can be said about shooters. Except you get dozens of them released in a year, but no one b*tch about them…..

I agree that’s why I don’t buy them lol. Loads of game magazines give them 10 out of 10’s when they all tend to be the same, the online is fun but the stories are horrible.

The original Japanese demo for God Eater was used to get some feedback and refine some points of God Eater, so there are elements they tightened up in the full game from what I heard. I’ll definitely agree God Eater didn’t feel as grounded as Monster Hunter, and chances are it likely still won’t though. But that’s alright, first game in the series so it’ll have a few bumps to smooth out, and I enjoyed it, sure it’s a MH-clone but it at least goes about a lot of stuff it’s own way.

Oh, fantastic. GodEater Burst, Lords of Arcana, and Monster Hunter Portable 3. All within an incredibly short window. I mean, I’m interested in GE Burst, but… I would hate to be a clone competing with the original. In such a short time frame, I’m only buying one of those.

If they spaced the releases far enough out that people got a chance to at least get a lot done in MHP3, then some people would pick up the clones for a change of pace.

    But what do I know?

Looks like the fox from Okami

Wonder why it, more than seems, that Monster-Hunter type games are ignoring the PS3?

  • Code

I look forward to the english release of God Eater, was just looking at some of the Arigami designs the other day from the original, and there’s some pretty neat designs. Although still prefer Monster Hunter, this was a nice alternative >w<'

so….. when do we(US,EU) get it?

  • Chow

lol, I thought that picture was a badass Amaterasu at first.

  • meganeshounen

That thing definitely looks like a fox.
I won’t be surprised if its name is “Kitsune” or “Kuzunoha”. Perhaps its “fallen” version is a nine-tailed version (referencing… y’know).

Then it’d get a name like “Ninetails” in the American release. Heh.
