Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect Flying To Bookstores Next Year

Square Enix has a Deus Ex novel in the pipeline. Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect overlaps with the events in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the video game, but each work focuses on a different set of characters.

The Icarus Effect follows secret service agent Anna Kelso and special-ops solider Ben Saxon, as they investigate a conspiracy in a cyberpunk future. Their choices, much like Adam in Human Revolution, change history for better or worse. Even though Square Enix didn’t say anything about this, it would be neat if the book had a choose your own adventure style endings.

James Swallow who penned Stargate and Warhammer 40,000 novels is the author of Deus Ex: The Icarus Effect. The book and the video game are scheduled to come out next year.
