The Three PlayStation Move Packages Made For North America

At launch, Sony plans on selling PlayStation Move in three ways. For people that bought Eye of Judgment or a PlayStation Eye there is a standalone PlayStation Move controller for $49.99. Current PlayStation 3 owners can grab a blue starter kit box with Sports Champions, a PlayStation Eye, one PlayStation Move, and a demo disc for $99.99.

Sony also has a hardware bundle with a Dualshock 3 controller, Sports Champions, demo disc, the wand, and a PlayStation Eye for $399.99. No package, so far, comes with the Navigation Controller. That’s a separate $29.99 purchase.

Japan has a different set of bundles and, believe it or not, cheaper hardware prices. Importers can grab a Beat Sketchers bundle or a Time Crisis: Raizing Storm package with a shooting attachment.

I love how those of us who already have the playstation eye get gypped as we don’t get “Sports Champions” and the Demo disk. I’m sure they’re not great, but they are something.

    • Are you really upset about missing out on “Sports Champions?!?”

      • Letiumtide

Hey, if I was sucker enough to buy a crappy camera for my PS3 in the first place, I deserve to be a Sport Champion, like the greek gods in front of my camera, waving my dild-erm… PS3 move wand like the CHAMPION that I am.

Seriously, not upset, just something I noticed.

          Haters gonna hate.

You could always wait for Sports Champions to drop to $20, then you’re basically spending $70 and hopefully you got the Playstation Eye for $30 or less.

Either that or you could see how much the eye is running on Ebay after release and just purchase the bundle and sell the eye on Ebay.

I paid 6.50 for my eyetoy, I was literally rising a stink about nothing. Just because I felt like it really.

So, if you want the complete package for one player, it becomes at least 130$. Double that for two players.

    • Actually less than double. You don’t need (to my knowledge) two Playstation Eyes… So 49.99 for a second Move, 29.99 for a second NavCon. Not really much different from 49.99 for a WiiMote, 19.99 for a Nunchuk, and 19.99/24.99 for a MotionPlus (which the PSeye basically acts as).

      • Plus, they have made it clear you can use a Dualshock 3 instead of a NavCon, if you want.

        • malek86

That doesn’t sound particularly comfortable. Imagine using a Classic Controller instead of the Nunchuck.

  • i need 100 freaking bucks and 50 more freaking bucks if i freaking want to play with somebody!?

  • Electrium

Looks like I’ll be waiting on this one. $80-110 just for the controller set-up (wand + eye [+ nav]), no games included? I hate to use the cliche “I already own a Wii”…but…I already own a Wii…

While I have no interest in the move as a permanent replacement for my dual shock, I will likely end up buying one of these just so I can play Dead Space Extraction on the PS3 version of Dead Space 2. Oh and for Time Crisis (unless it has Guncon3 support). I will likely never use it after that but when it comes to light gun games a regular controller just will not do.
