NIS America PSP RPGs: These Are Trailers

By Spencer . July 16, 2010 . 3:50pm

Fresh from last night’s press event here are trailers for NIS America’s upcoming PSP games.

We’ll start with Cladun: This is an RPG.

Gotta love their enthusiastic English announcer for this Zettai Hero Project: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman trailer.

While the trailer says “fall” our press materials say Zettai Hero Project is slated for winter. We’re checking with NIS America about the release timing.

  • deltazero

Damn… they took out Wakamoto’s awesome commentary from the original trailer :/. The english announcer sounds lame compared to wakamoto’s awesomeness

    • godmars

As is usually the case with translations…

      • Zeik56

        Not really.

    • Well…, is not like they would leave it either lol, it wasnt that bad, the Wakamoto dude is a professional, and that career is really respected in japan, but here not that much. I think he did a good job trying to get the same tone and feeling as Wakamoto.

Also.. this commenter reminds me of Mao of disgaea 3… O_o maybe the tone..

      • TNA_Lewis

…Vic Mignona actually WAS Mao in Disgaea 3.

        • ho i knew it, well i didnt knew who was the one talking here, but i knew that this must had been the one who made Mao’s voice, woa, it must had been hard to do mao’s voice xD

    • Again, where’s my UN-LIKE button?

  • truebluepaulcfc

Ugh was really hoping beyond hope Antiphona would get announced. Oh well.

  • Methylene

I’m digging the NES and FF style “losing battle scenes” in the ZHP trailer.

  • Drills! Cat Ears! Boobs!

NISA sure knows how to win me over :D

  • Guest

These both look REALLY good — excited for Zettai Hero Project the most though

  • Gio32k

These are some neat titles from NIS. I would really love to see Nis localize
Zikande Fantasia. Here’s a vid if you want to know what it is:

  • Hahahahahha i just realized the sub tittle is “this is a rpg” HAHHAHAHAHAHAH.

Omg this was so funny, this looks so great, i love my psp, and i love NISA, im so gonna buy this

  • Chow

Both of these look really fun.
    *unfolds wallet*

    • Ereek

Haha, didn’t you just unfold your wallet for Rorona? Looks like I’m not the only person that’s going to be spending money on NISA games this year.

  • Feynman

I was looking forward to NISA’s press event more than I cared about E3. They haven’t disappointed me!

  • kupomogli

Classic Dungeon looks very good. I’ll definitely be picking this one up I’d rather have the name Classic Dungeon as well, rather than some gimmick name like Cladun.

Zettai Hero Project: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman looks interesting. Looks can be deceiving but it looks like it plays like Chocobo Dungeon/Azure Dreams/Torneko or Landstalker. However, like I said. Looks can be deceiving. It also looks similar to La Pucelle/Disgaea which I despise NIS’ take on tactical RPG titles. Their tactical RPGs are complete garbage. However their games that aren’t based on that aspect are pretty awesome. Prinny Can I Really Be the Hero is amazing. I haven’t tried Badman 2, but it seems interesting.

    • Kibbitz

Zettai Hero Project is a rogue-like done NI style. The humour in the Japanese version appealed to me, but the gameplay was not enough to get past my dislike of rogue-likes. I died from hunger constantly (whether directly or indirectly) and in the cases in the deeper dungeons where I didn’t because I chose to farm for food to bring around, I got extremely tired of the formula. That being said, some amusing fun features, but pretty much only for people who will play rogue-likes to begin with and do not mind repeated death in the process.

  • NISA casts Zing on PSP! PSP returns to life!

    • Ereek

I wasn’t aware the PSP was dead in the first place.

    • kupomogli

I prefer the name Vivify. I’ve always thought a lot of the retranslated names were stupid. Also, I don’t think most of the retranslated names are correct either. You can go through a Japanese guide that has the regular names and then the English translated names, and most of the spell and skill names are from earlier Dragon Warrior titles. Not the newly translated names. It wasn’t until Dragon Quest 8 where nearly every single spell and ability has a new name.

      • Hraesvelgr

Well, with all the ridiculous puns in names and whatnot, it is fairly obvious that it’s not a “correct” translation.

      • dragon quest? don’t you mean doragon kuesuto?!

  • ShinNoKami

XDXDXD I love the announcer for ZHP…. the entire trailer is HILARIOUS. Sounds like something Flonne would love to watch though.

    …sexy… jiggly… boobs? O_O

  • haha, the last one sure was enthusiastic

  • I was thinking about getting Zettai Hero, but that trailer sold me. Gonna get it.

  • evilmoogle

    I hear Vic Mignogna.

  • Yeah! I really need to get a PSP now!

  • Code

rar, whelp! Zettai Hero Project has just jumped to one of my most wanted games!

    • Guest

Yep, I’ve heard a lot of people wanting it to come here, but I never did my research until it became official. The trailer oozes with charm and it is one of my most wanted games too XD.

  • shion16

i changed mi psp for a week for a DS (dragon quest 9)
    and now i know
my psp is tons of times better
