After announcing Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Reverie for North America, Square Enix hasn’t said anything about the Western release. To be fair, the Nintendo DS remake was officially announced for the West way back in 2008 and wasn’t released in Japan until January of this year.
Now that Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies is out, Square Enix is probably giving Dragon Quest VI another look and, perhaps, another name. Yoichi Wada, CEO of Square Enix, is listed as the registrant for realmsofrevelation.net.
Square Enix also filed trademarks for Los Reino On Ricos, Wandler Zwischen Den Welten, and Nel Regno Dei Sogni in Europe. These, especially the last mark in Italian, sound like they could be international subtitles for Dragon Quest VI too.
If Square Enix is registering trademarks and domain names that means related to Dragon Quest VI that probably means Dragon Quest VI, whether Square Enix or Nintendo publishes it, is on the horizon.
Thanks for the tip about the domain name Liam!
