PlayStation 3 Meets Its Most Delicious Rival

PlayStation 3 ads in North America star Kevin Butler while Japan’s PS3 spokesplant is a scallion. Sony is running a series of TV ads pits the PS3 against a green onion.


This gave Sony an opportunity to go about the PlayStation 3’s features like YouTube viewing and 3D glasses. Scallions can’t play Blu-ray movies, but they are tasty and to play fair Sony highlighted a list of dishes made with scallions.




While the videos are in Japanese, they have the same tongue-in-cheek tone as the commercials made for North America. Hmm… perhaps Sony Computer Entertainment Japan learned something from SCEA

    if it’s in japan, nico douga viewing on the ps3 wouldn’t be better?

      Not for a general audience. Youtube is better known and more popular than Nico in Japan if you look at everyone. Nico is really only popular with niche groups and otaku and the like.
