Dimple Entertainment Closes Their DoorsDimple Entertainment is ending their stint as a video game publisher. A message written by Takashi Kamio, President, thanked fans for their loyalty and announced the company will be closed on August 31.

Loveroot Zero, released this past April for the PlayStation 2, will be Dimple Entertainment’s last the game. Dimple is probably best known for Kumatanchi, a Vanillaware developed Nintendo DS game where players care for a bear girl. Marsh: The Mysterious English Eating Animal, a cutesy virtual pet meets English training game, and the touch screen tapping Pinky Street games were some of Dimple’s other works.

Does the fact I had never heard of them or their games until now say anything about why they may have shut down?

The world does not revolve around you.

I'll remember them for their stellar Loopop Cube Lup-★-Salad DS puzzle game. Why oh why wasn't this published in North America??? Who knows, maybe they wouldn't have had to shut down their game division.

Thanks again Spencer for covering these little-known publishers:

That Marsh game is pretty clever, but the art quality on that cover is pretty bad :/ It's a shame they are going out of business even the less known companies can make epic games.

Nah its just a strange coincidence…….

It's a shame we'll probably never get kumatanchi over here

I don't know man, I have put on a few pounds of late.

Love the look of Kumatanchi. Its sad that another publisher that helps the little developers go out of business. One less outlet for them.

Well that PS2 game looks totally average in everyway. If that's anything to go by this is no great loss.

The game has such an adorable soundtrack. They also published a PSP version.

  • Buntar0

Bye guys, I adored some of your DS and PSP games. Now I regret not importing Loopop Cube PSP and the KiraKira Musich Night even more :(

  • darkonezero

Is this the same company as Dimps?

  • Buntar0

    No, different people.
Dimps makes games (e.g. Sonic Rush series for SEGA; Street Fighter IV for Capcom)
Dimple is (was ;_;) a publisher.

Noooos! KiraKira was awesome and stuffs *cry*
