Half-Minute Hero Second Is All Hero 30 Mode

By Spencer . August 5, 2010 . 11:03am

imageMarvelous’ sequel to Half-Minute Hero, aptly titled Yuusha 30 Second, drops other gameplay modes like Princess 30 and Evil Lord 30 for more Hero 30 levels.

The game has five scenarios: Hero 30 Overture, Hero 30 Judgment, Hero 30 Revolution, Hero 30 Ragnarok, and Hero 30 Destiny. Similar to Half-Minute Hero the final scenario is an epic battle 1,000 years in the making. Hero 30 Judgment follows a hero as he fights demons escaping the gates of hell. Hero 30 Revolution sounds more lighthearted. This storyline follows Princess Yushia (this is a pun of Yuusha which means hero in Japanese) as she escapes curfew for an adventure. Half-Minute Hero Second has over 90 levels to play.

When you’re done with those you can make your own in edit mode. Players can create and share their own Half-Minute Hero Second levels. Marvelous also added in a new multiplayer mode with co-op play and Infinite Hero where monsters keep popping up. You still have to defeat them in 30 seconds otherwise the world ends.

Half-Minute Hero Second is scheduled for release on November 4 in Japan.

    Oh Jesus Christ yes

    I loved me some HMH

    LOVED it

But they pretty much billed the game entirely as Hero mode and it was only 1/4 of the game.

Aww… I loved the other modes. (Especially Princess 30) I’m still getting it.

          Wrong, Excel. (It’s my favorite.)

I’m down with just Hero mode, as that is my favorite one.

Hero mode was the best but considering we can make our own edit mode I still wish we were able to have the other modes.

Anyways, the edit mode is honestly the best sounding feature in this game. Obviously the game is going to be awesome and all, but I’d like to see what stages fans are going to be making.

I’m not a fan of the original Dragon Warrior, but I’d make a game called Hero Warrior or Hero Quest, and base it off Dragon Warrior if space allows for it. Less grinding and the original Dragon Warrior would have been a decent although extremely short game.

Evil Lord better be in it. He was awesome.

Awesome, I didn’t expect to enjoy HMH so much, but it’s just so addicting.

There’s a lot of love for the original here. I really must get around to playing my copy. I get the feeling I’m seriously missing out.

I never actually play the game, but can play 30 second at a time be fun? Couldn’t a minute be more fun. I like the create and multiplayer mode though

    • http://honorless.net honorless

Yes, it can. But don’t take my word for it; IIRC there’s at least one demo on PSN. Download it (them?) and see for yourself.

  • maxchain

I’m trying to be disappointed, but I’ve also been trying to force myself to like the other modes in the original.

    Called it.
