Nippon Ichi Releases First iPhone Title

imageNippon Ichi is the latest Japanese publisher to join the iPhone marketplace and they’re first title is a horror novel.

An episode of Hayarigami, an adventure game with a series of spooky tales, is now available on the iPhone store as an e-book. It’s free to download, but like all versions of Hayarigami it’s in Japanese.

In addition to Hayarigami, Nippon Ichi released a handful of other mobile phone games in Japan like Dragon Vein and the sound novel Deep Diver.

  • They released that Disgaea mobile phone game a while back that looked fun. I don’t think there has been a full 3D Disgaea game since.

So now there are, what, 4 versions of Hayarigami in Japan?

Is it really outrageous that I’d like one of them to be released in the US? Particularly, the PSP version? I’ve tried to play the Japanese one, but my language skills aren’t quite there.

Thanks for posting about this, I was somehow not aware of this series, and after having read this free bit, I am interested in picking up the rest. Free stuff is always nice and, although not exactly ground-breaking, it was fairly interesting.

Outrageous? well it depends on what happened with Disgaea Infinite. IIRC, NISA was testing the waters with that game. If it bombed, then no, it’s not really outrageous that Hayarigami isn’t coming over. Otherwise, yes it is.

EDIT: This was suppose to be a reply to SevethEvening, but for some reason….it ended up as just a response to the article. :/
