Square Enix’s Sliding Heroes Free On The iPhone App StoreSquare Enix made an iPad version of Chaos Rings and are commemorating its release by discounting other iPhone games. Games like Song Summoner: The Unsung Heroes – Encore, Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy II, Vanguard Storm, and Hills and Rivers Remain are on sale.

Sliding Heroes is an accelerometer powered game where you tilt your iPhone to move units around holes. It normally costs $0.99, but during the sale Sliding Heroes is free.

The Chaos Rings sale ends on August 26.

In case anyone is interested, Hills & Rivers Remain is pretty good. Probably my 2nd favorite iPod game (behind EspGaluda2).

HRR is sort of like the boardgame Risk, but with some realtime elements (your base constantly produces new units, you can move your base to any controlled area at will) and a few power ups. You send soldiers back and forth through your controlled lands to defend and to strike out to take over new lands (very much Risk in concept here). Pretty decent story scenes (text with nicely drawn still character portraits) between battles.
