Behind Closed Door Photos Of The 3rd Birthday

By Spencer . August 18, 2010 . 10:02am

Square Enix is showing The 3rd Birthday behind closed doors at Gamescom. Want to see what the publisher is doing inside?

A member of the PR team posted these photos of Yoshinori Kitase, producer, demoing the game.

Media got a chance to play The 3rd Birthday at the show too. Kitase tweeted that European press got five minutes to play the PSP game. Even though it was their first play everyone was able to use the overdive system and blast enemies. Kitase is pleased since this, in his words, proves The 3rd Birthday’s system is quite intuitive.

nice, looks like they got about as much playtime in as most mainstream websites do when they post reviews for games. ^^

I dunno why square is so secretive about their mainstream titles, is it to create hype?

    • FireCouch

Yeah it’s weird. They announce games 5 years before they come out, and then never reveal any information until 10 days before release.

i actually think that’s better, because the game may surprise you, like years ago when gamer’s didn’t see many reviews of the game or they even didn’t have internet and thay discovered the pros from game for themselves :D, those times…

Yeah, but you also ended up making a lot of crap purchases as well. I personally like to be able to see gameplay footage and impressions because I use that information to determine whether I should pick up a game.

I mostly go by gameplay footage alone since someone’s opinion may not gel with mine. But I agree with you.

The revealed way too much w/ the FF13 trailers though..

BTW, the PSP video out w/ the screen in the middle is really sucky, I know PSP has low resolution, but I never felt like playing on the big TV because of that, the black bars surrounding all sides are really distracting..

Nope, because the Voice casting didn’t finish yet and they still improve controls and IQ:)

But, I still want a shower scene.

I feel like such a voyeur when I see these little behind the scenes peeks. I love it.

    Gamescon = Public Event.

Square Enix = Closed doors at a public event.

They just continue to suck more and more.

To say the truth I don’t like that Square Enix public a trailer 2,3 o 4 years before the game is released. An example is FF XIII, KH BBS and The 3rd Birthday

5 minutes?! Man, Square is really starting to piss me off.
