Final Fantasy XIV Open Beta Plagued By Critical BugsApologies, from Square Enix, if you were hoping to explore Eorzea. After discovering critical bugs, Square Enix postponed the Final Fantasy XIV open beta hours before launch. An open beta is still planned, but a date was not announced.

 

Final Fantasy XIV is still on track for a September 22 launch when the collector’s edition arrives in stores. A standard edition without a travel journal and digital Onion Helm is scheduled to arrive on September 30.

    It’s better that they catch the bugs before release than to launch with them. I’m thinking it might be better to delay the release for a week or two to help fix some of the problems that are plaguing the game.

    But having played XI for years, I can say that SE usually is quite fast at fixing bugs, even if they have to close a zone down.

    wait what? Some of the bugs and exploits were around for a quite a while before they patched them out. Like the Salvage bug was a known thing by the japanese community for quite a bit before it got widespread and eventually had to be patched. They also have a pretty decent track record of breaking stuff when they attempt to add new things.
