A Glimpse Of Dungeon Siege III Gameplay

By Spencer . September 3, 2010 . 7:06pm

Dungeon Siege III might be the flashiest hack and slash RPG this generation. Every strike leaves a trail of light or an explosion on the ground.

It might not be clear from the video, but Dungeon Siege III has drop in and drop out cooperative play. Obsidian said the system supports two players, but left the door open for more. Something else not shown in this video that Square Enix demoed was you can knock enemies into each other… from far away. In a media demo, a staffer at Obsidian knocked a monster off a cliff like a golf ball and it hit another monster across the chiasm.

Dungeon Siege III comes out on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 next year.

I generally don’t like hack n’ slash games that much but this seems pretty fun.

Hack n’ Slash isn’t really the right word for the games. It’s more of an ARPG. Which usually end up like Hack ‘n slash anyway, so I suppose it’s not much of a correction.

Yeah, I know it’s technically called an ARPG but there was definitely lots of hacking and slashing in that trailer. Which usually gets boring pretty fast but this game seems kinda fun. I’ll definitely want to at least rent it judging from the trailer.

Well in terms of ARPG….it’s gonna be this vs Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll

  • Certainly looks better than Dark Kingdoms.
