KOF Sky Stage Blasts Onto Xbox Live Arcade Next Week

By Spencer . September 6, 2010 . 9:52am

KOF Sky Stage, a SNK developed shooter that replaces jets with characters from The King of Fighters, is coming home. The arcade game will be available as an Xbox Live Arcade download on September 15 for 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

KOF Sky Stage has six characters: Kyo, Iori, Athena, Kula, Mai, and Terry. Sorry, Marco from Metal Slug is only the expanded PSP game Neo Geo Heroes Ultimate Shooting. The console version has one feature the PSP shooter doesn’t, online play. You can logon to Xbox Live and shoot ships together or shoot each other. KOF Sky Stage also has online leaderboards.

SNK hasn’t said anything official about releasing KOF Sky Stage on Xbox Live Arcade overseas, but the ESRB says we’re getting it.

XBLA releases are nearly always worldwide simultaneous release.

The interesting thing to me is that it’s coming the same day as Space Invaders: Infinity Gene. And even more interesting is that Cave’s Guwange XBLA is apparently done and awaiting release any time now. Hmmm… Could it be a shooting festival week?
