Square Enix Wants Kingdom Hearts Re: Coded To Shine, Literally

By Spencer . September 6, 2010 . 11:28pm

Square Enix recently posted the cover art for Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. You may have seen Donald leaning on Data Sora before, but there’s something else on the box you can’t see in the image.

The package has light reflecting sparkles. Kingdom Hearts creator Tetsuya Nomura took a photo of the box and posted it on the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter for fans to see.

Japan is getting Kingdom Hearts Re:coded next month. Meanwhile, back in North America, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep comes out tomorrow.

They must be trying to appeal to Twilight fans.

Those two leading sentences were so suggestive, there’s no way that could have been an accident.
    ‘Fess up.

  • I don’t understand they got the mobile phone version and we didn’t (did we?) and now they happen to get a remake of it first as well. What gives and I see that BBS is coming out today so maybe I’ll buy it. (sad about no PSN ver.)

    • Most people outside Japan aren’t big on cell phone games, unless it’s little games like Peggle or Tetris on their iPhones. But games that actually have a story and are deeper than a two button system don’t sell too well. It probably didn’t make financial sense to localize it. And Japanese developers naturally develop their games in Japanese first. The delayed time before we get it it due to localization. They could wait for the localization to be done and make the Japanese people wait, but that’s just mean :P

  • Slow news day eh?

You know, I was just noticing that the stuff in BBS glows and sparkles an awful lot (especially Terra). What, with Nomura’s art for KH getting girlier, I honestly wonder what we can expect from KH3’s graphic direction.
