Capcom’s official site for Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth 2 gives us a much better look at the Nintendo DS game. In addition to Edgeworth, Gumshoe and Kay Faraday are back for the sequel.

The game begins at Gourd Lake Park, a location shown in other Ace Attorney games. Cherry blossoms are blooming in the background and TV cameras are ready to broadcast a speech. The audience are startled by a crime, which appears to be gun related. Was there a murder?

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 has the evidence searching, rebuttal, and logic systems from the first game. There’s a new system too, which Capcom is keeping secret for now. The only clue we have is a picture of Edgeworth in front of a chess piece.

Ace Attorney Investigations 2 will be at Tokyo Game Show next week tucked inside Capcom’s booth.

Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but hey, what about GS5? ;A; I wasn’t too fond of the first Investigations and I was actually hoping for the series to follow some of the other prosecutors (although I guess they can still go down that route in the future).

I don’t think so, I mean, Edgeworth was special in all of the previous games, so I’m not sure they’re going to make games about other prosecutors in the series – if anything, “Investigations” becomes more than a spin-off and brings forth a new prosecutor as a protagonist, much like Apollo fulfilled Phoenix’ role in the fourth sequel.

In any case, I’m still stoked for this. The first game was fun to me, so I’m having high expectations.

Edgeworth’s importance in the main series is what kind of worries me most–depending on how far they take this, to me it just seems like the equivalent of beating a dead horse. Personally speaking, I’d rather see more of the other prosecutors even if they aren’t as important as Edgeworth is.

While I don’t mind one or two Investigations starring Edgeworth, the first one felt lackluster to me and I have an interest in the other prosecutors (although admittedly it would probably be a bit of a stretch to have a Godot game).

I see where you’re coming from. Well, with any luck the next AAI-game(s) will be more engaging and fun than the first one. Maybe the first one was a good experiment and testing ground for the team. And that should be okay, right? After all, the first three games with Phoenix didn’t get boring!

Yeah, same. I enjoyed the courtroom setup of every other one better.

    • Yeah, we already talked about that in the last post about this, i mean, i liked this one, but, i would prefer a GS5 more… this was just a “spin off” kind of a game so i dont feel very good with a sequel, but anyway, it was fun and i love these series, i will be getting this and i hope to hear more about phoenix in here xD

    • I thought the creater of GS said he was “done” with GS…. I hope this isn’t true!

      • nah, with the ending GS4 had, with apollo justice saying there is still more for him to do, and develop more his ability (the eye thing), i dont think is still the end for the GS, besides, i still have my hopes to see more of phoenix, and wth happened with all the cast in all that time he lost his badge, and why the hell he just stayed alone after all that happened -.-‘

I wonder if Edgeworth is going to “turn the chessboard over”? :p

But in all seriousness, AAI was great, so I’m looking forward to this. I’m just wondering when it’ll be set, since Phoenix loses his badge only a month or two after AAI ends (IIRC).
