Here, Have A Look At Atlus’ Naruto Games

You read that right, Atlus and Naruto. On November 11, Atlus will release Naruto Shippuden: Naruto vs. Sasuke on for Nintendo DS and Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles on Wii. Both of these titles were developed and published by Tomy in Japan.

Naruto Shippuden: Naruto vs. Sasuke is a 2D side-scroller with Sasuke as the last boss. If you played any of the Naruto: Ninja Council games you have a good idea of what to expect.

Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles has an original storyline where Naruto has to slay elemental dragons called Genryu with the legendary Dragon Blade.

Reserve either game at Gamestop and you’ll get one of Atlus’ spoils, a Naruto Shippuden cap.

  • Dragon Blade Chronicles is going to be pretty epic!!! Figurines from Amazon here I come!!!!

      that game got bad reviews

      • The game has Naruto Uzumaki in it, meaning it could not possibly be bad; how could it have got bad reviews? Just about every console game of the Naruto universe is epic and awesome.

I’m pleased at Atlus’ business gains from this, as well all know this will net them alot of profit. I never get tired of seeing kids light up when you mention a new Naruto game at work.

Hehe. I think it’s good you feel that way. 99% of the internet have a very far opposite reaction when they hear the name Naruto…

Personally I have nothing against Naruto games and I find annoying that people discriminate them simply because they appeal to a certain audience.

That said, I have many things against localizing them while leaving to Japan titles such as Growlanser, Luminous Arc 3, Endless Frontier Exceed, Class of Heroes 2, Summon Night Tears X Crown and many others that the old Atlus would have at least considered. I hope at least Radiant Historia is able to made it to the USA.

    • Same here at work also but you have to pick the right customers or they would just ignore you.

  • That’s a pretty nice hat. Too bad I don’t like Naruto.

Though I despise Naruto, if they use the profits to bring over something worth playing, I’m all for it.

Problem is, before 2010 Atlus USA localized niche jrpgs without the need to bring over Naruto spin off (as I stated I have nothing against them per se).

Now, instead, they choose to localize Naruto spin offs and completely avoid most of the jrpg franchises they previously translated (Growlanser, Luminous Arc. Endless Frontier, Class of Heroes, Summon Night), aside from the obvious Atlus Japan titles like SMTPersonaTrauma. Of course 2010 has Shiren, Hexyz and EO3 (which is also an Atlus title), but if you compare it to 2008 or 2009’s lineup there is much to be afraid of.

It’s a bit useless having Atlus USA’s rep saying “Nothing is changing, guys!” when the best news from Atlus in the last six months have been two upgraded porting and a bundle with a digital code to download an old upgraded port.

Even the Atlus Spoil thing, which was amazing in the past years, is going to waste with pre-order caps instead of the amazing limited editions Aksys and XSeed are providing us (even NiSA is returning to that path with Rorona’s LE, even if it is a GameStop exclusive).

God, that DS game looks boring. The Wii game looks somewhat fun. I don’t know, I guess like most other people I’d just prefer if time and resources were spent on the niche-titles Atlus is known for, but I understand this will be good for their economy, so… alright let’s just see where this goes for now.

“Naruto Shippuden: Dragon Blade Chronicles has an original storyline where Naruto has to slay elemental dragons called Genryu with the legendary Dragon Blade.”What’s this, Ninja Gaiden?I mean, not saying it will be bad, but I wonder if that plot actually has anything to do with Naruto.

    • I think it is the 10th anniversary game or something? So really just a storyline with Naruto characters in a cool sounding storyline.

  • I want that hat!
