Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger Vs Darkdeath Evilman Dated

ZHP_conversation_20100825(12)The next game from the Disgaea team has nothing to do with Disgaea. Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman is a new series from Nippon Ichi that begins with a… car accident. The undefeated Absolute Victory Unlosing Ranger gets hit by a car and a meek passerby dons his heroic costume to defeat Darkdeath Evilman.

Here’s how the ESRB describes Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman.

In this strategy role-playing game, players take control of a young hero trying to save the world from an evil villain. Players view the action from a top-down perspective, as their small hero interacts with characters and engages in brief battles with monsters. Battle sequences include punching sound effects and enemies that blink or disappear when defeated.

During the course of the game, characters sometimes engage in suggestive dialogue; for example, "If only my breasts were as pitiful as hers," "[Y]ou got the equipment made for men dangling between your legs," and "Uh . . . Besides bruise her uterus? Not much." The game also contains some references to alcohol; for example, "I serve alcohol so I’ll always check your ID at the door ," "My biggest treasure is my huge bottle of booze" and "I got drunk." Language such as "b*tching," "a*s," and "t*ts" appear in the dialogue.

Alcohol and boob jokes? That sounds like a game made by the Disgaea team to me. NIS America set October 26 as the release date for Z.H.P.: Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman. It’ll be released on PlayStation Network and in stores on a UMD.

  • Well this is awesome, it will give me a great many hours of enjoyment at the end of October when it releases. I so can not wait. Interesting that they are “brief” battles with monsters.

  • SolidusSnake

Yes… if the story, characters and gameplay are anywhere close to Disgaea-level awesomeness we will have a masterpiece on our hands, people.

  • “[Y]ou got the equipment made for men dangling between your legs”

    rofl xD

  • Code

rar, can’t wait >w< It feels like it's been forever since I've played something from NIS T_T'

    • really, no disgaea infinite?

      • Code

Oh I played Disgaea Infinite, I really enjoyed it, but I’m starving for more, particularly in the game variety TwT I can’t say I clocked nearly as many hours on it as most of NIS games, but it was a nice mid-summer appetizer.

Let’s chalk another one up for October.

And here I thought Atlus had delayed KITN for a reason.

    • I guess October is a good time, though Im getting more games on that same day Star Wars Force Unleashed II, The Sims 3 PS3, and Yugioh 5D’s Tag Force 5 (PSP).

This would have been better coming out this month.

I’d also like to point out that this is coming just a week before the new God of War game.I don’t think those two genres will clash, but still.. an unknown game coming out just before a far more awaited game? People are already reluctant to actually buy PSP games in western countries, so any incentive to not buy them (if you catch my drift) is definitely not a good thing.

Rock Band 3 Keyboard Bundle + Pro Mustang Guitar + Foot Pedal + $??? in Launch DLC + ZHP = One Hurt Wallet.

Jeez, I’ve had a PSP for years and the majority of those years it has only collected dust on the shelf. Now the market gets bombarded with games I want to play, like Valkyria 2, P3P, Fate/Extra, Cladun and this game. It’s a good thing sure, but where were they back when I considered trdaing the machine in?

    • What? I guess Im the complete opposite, the PSP is the system that I have the second most number of games on in my library, just a meager 22 titles now (compared to over 30 for my PS3).

    • malek86

I only bought my PSP in 2009, so I never had to deal with that situation.

But yeah, it must have been bad. I remember there was a time when nobody was making games for it. I would go to news sites, see the total lack of news about the PSP, and think to myself “boy am I glad I didn’t buy this thing”.

Fortunately things changed, and now I can say that it was a great purchase (especially for MHFU). Heck, I might actually have used it more in these 2 years, than I’ve used my DS in 5 years.
