Sonic Free Riders lets two players literally reach for rings while speeding on a hoverboard in this Kinect powered game. Head on to Xbox Live and you can join an eight player online race.

Sega posted the multiplayer number on their Tokyo Game Show page for Sonic Free Riders, which also says Japan gets the game on November 20, the same day Kinect launches in the region. In North America, Sonic Riders has a floating holiday 2010 release window.

  • Sonic always looks so awesome, though they should have provided support for being on the controller; the last sonic riders had the option for controllers which was needed because any racing game without support for the standard controller just fails (its just imprecise and hard to seriously compete against competent AI)

Whoever spazzes out the most wins! Great gaming idea, guys!

Huh, don’t know much about this. Hows the gameplay?

  • I liked both Riders games, especially the first. For a mascot racer, it’s very low on gimmicky items that can ruing a good lap.

Judging from the screenshots, they did a nice job and everything looks so vivid and far from sterile. Looking forward to this, though I hope this gets a port.
