Bayonetta 2? Hideki Kamiya Believes Its Coming

By Spencer . September 16, 2010 . 5:23pm

imageSega, so far, have not announced a sequel to Bayonetta, but Bayonetta director Hideki Kamiya believes we’ll see one.

Responding to a fan asking if there will be a Bayonetta 2 over Twitter, Kamiya wrote in English, “I believe so.” Kamiya also tweeted to a different person, “She’ll [Bayonetta] be back if you believe so.”

The next and final title from the Sega and Platinum Games partnership is Vanquish. Bayonetta is a Sega owned intellectual property.

  • Oh awesome, I just picked up Bayonetta from Amazon this weekend and I love it (and the very easy automatic mode, more games need it). He is awesome director and whoever he chose for the camera angles did a great job on capturing the action…

Hopefully SEGA delivers…oh and doesnt make it for the PSP…

oh yeah? Where’s ma English version of SEGAGAGA

  • Scallion

I don’t want to see what becomes of Bayonetta when Platinum’s time is up and they leave Sega. It’s going to be Viewtiful Joe all over again.
The video game industry seems to be worse than the music industry in the 50s in that regard: creators don’t seem to have much ownership or control over the games and characters they crafted.

    • No doubt Sega will abuse her and force her to play with Sonic. This makes me very sad indeed. Let’s hope Sega burns to the ground before this happens…

  • kylehyde

Just do it. I really loved the option for playing with one hand, with the other hand I did a lot of stuffs, unfortanetly I have to do some cleaning later. You know what I mean.

  • Aoshi00

Really liked the first one and extra easy mode was fun, since I can’t pull off the crazy combos in normal mode. Even though the Eng. dub was really good, I kind of wish they would also dub it in Jpn, since Vanquish has dual audio too. I just can’t help but imagine what Bayonetta would sound like in Jpn :)

    • i think she goes better with english voice acting

      • Aoshi00

I love the Eng. voice acting, I just want them to dub it in Jpn as well, since they do it for Vanquish, Castlevania Lords of Shadow, Resident Evil Degeneration, Heavy Rain, etc. I’m just curious. Plus replaying it w/ a different language gives a new experience. If anything, they should do it for the Jpn gamers.

    • Scallion

I expect lots of unintentional cheese and “OHOHOHOHOHOHOHO” laughter from Bayonetta-Jpn edition.
      No thanks…

Also, if you just started playing at Normal, you’ll eventually get better–the game’s good about ramping up the difficulty just enough each time so that you get better at memorizing the rhythms of the combat. It’s a lot more gratifying when you pull off a huge chain yourself, too–especially when you get up to Non-Stop ∞ Climax Mode .

      • krokounleashed

With the climax bracelet (Yeah you have to farm at least 7mio halos), Non-Stop Climax Mode becomes very easy ;)

      • Aoshi00

No, I meant I finished the game on normal first and then tried a little bit hard mode, then I tried super easy mode and was amazed at the non stop combos (w/ Bayonetta flying across the screen literally) which I couldn’t pull while playing normal. I know it wasn’t me doing the combos, but it still looks beautiful and I’m amazed I “did” it. I did get like 600 achievement though, pulling off the blocking/parrying moves consecutively was satisfying.

I think Bayonetta would sound pretty sexy if dubbed in Jpn though. I like her British accent, but sometimes she sounds a bit too old (I mean she’s an old witch and all). I read about how to farm the money w/ this one boss but I couldn’t do it…

  • krokounleashed

When Bayonetta 2 comes to PSP, Sega will be burned down. Sega will be ereased from all historybooks. Believe me.

    • ECM

I could get behind a plan like this.

      • Bruce

lol , revenge of the angry gamers ,

    • FireCouch

I don’t even like Bayonetta, but I agree with this statement.

    • I doubt the button used for dodging will be intact if this comes to the PSP.

Although I have a PSP, please god no :(

    • Kibbitz

Sure. Anything so I get to see less screaming because of a PS3 franchise going over to PSP.

    • Highly unlikely seeing I’m sure the Xbox 360 version sold more copies than the Sega ported PS3 version.

    • Why would it be for PSP? Did anybody give any hint of it going to PSP?

      • krokounleashed

it’s a SEGA franchise, also it’s just a “what if”.

  • ECM

Considering the absolutely staggering number of Bayonetta vids on Sega’s official YouTube page (Japanese edition) it’s safe to say this is a foregone conclusion.

  • “I’ve got a fever, and the only cure is more dead angels!”

  • Yusaku_Matsuda70s

Port the PS3 version yourselves please.Though judging from what they said about Vanquish, I have good reason to believe it will be better the next time around.

Also, renew the contract Sega! Do it quickly! You have gold on your hands!

    • SlashZaku

Since they have a handle on leading with the PS3 and getting a better end product across all platforms as a result, I’d imagine they’d take the Vanquish approach for a Bayonetta 2 just to avoid what happened with the 1st game and because now, they know their way around the PS3.

  • kiba99

i hope they redesign Bayonetta and fix her loooong neck and boobs and make her look sexy, young and more human than a tall octopus … -_-!

  • Yippee. Bayonetta is definitely one of the best games of 2010. I would buy the sequel day 1, no questions asked.

  • puchinri

Yes please. As soon as possible, please.
    Because I do believe.

  • Souji Tendou

Please Kamiya-san, release Bayonetta 2 quickly, because I want to forget an abomination named DmC.

  • cant they change her “secretary” look? that’s the only reason i havent brought this game

    • You do acquire alternate costumes once you’ve completed the game…
Now go to your nearest game store and buy Bayonetta

      • krokounleashed

i think, he mean the glasses. which are still there even with the alternative costumes. i like glasses :3

        • we should be friends :3

    • Aoshi00

Come on, you didn’t like the secretary look, I so loved the glasses :) But like Ashgail said, you can buy lots of costumes once you beat the game once, like Kabuki kimono, gym shorts (she looks amazing in it), etc. It’s refreshing to replay the game w/ her wearing different clothes, some of them look better than her regular hair-leather get-up. For those who said are bothered by her looks or slightly off proportioned body, no excuses, go pick up the game NOW, this has to be one of the best action games I’ve played like… ever. And the Vanquish demo is gooood too!

  • No need for a serious story, Kamiya-sensei.

Just keep the cheesiness and awesome gameplay and I’ll pre-order it

  • capristrider

Bayonetta 2! yes please, SCHWING!. The original was one of my personal best game of 2010. I even went as far as getting the Limited edition Scarborough Guns and Guide Book! I hope Sega and Platinum Games relationship continues, much like Sega and Treasure, even if Treasure have worked with numerous other publishers too.

  • DDanny

Omg yes, moar over the top stuff, moar cheese and camp and moar EPIC CHORUS!!!!!

  • MarkMario

PSP can’t handle Bayonetta’s “NONSTOP CLIMAX ACTION!”

  • xxx128

The simple law of sequels, if a product is finacially sucessful you will see a sequel.
And in case of bayonetta i am still waiting for a bloody pc port sega, thx.
