LC_GoL_01_xlBefore any of those are released Lara Croft’s latest adventure will finally come out on other platforms. Square Enix announced Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be available on PlayStation Network and Steam on September 28.

In October, the first of five downloadable content packs will be available on all platforms. Numbers one through three add puzzles, areas, and combat scenes for Lara and the Mayan deity Totec to crack. The final two packs are character content, which let players use “other well-known videogame characters” in Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Crystal Dynamics are keeping who those characters are a secret for now.

All five downloadable packs will be released by the end of December. Pricing has not been announced.

  • OH come on, I want my full scale Lara Croft Tomb Raider game, not some fan fiction reimagining of Lara :(

The game is really good though. I’ll take a good game, no matter what form it comes out in.

Those aren’t dlc packs… they’re making us pay for 5 pieces to get the complete game. >:(

… Seriously though. Isn’t 5 a bit much, especially one after another? It feels like they’re trying to milk us. Personally, I don’t mind one or two pieces of dlc.

    • I dunno about the PSN and STEAM versions, but I do recall that the XBOX version will have the first DLC free to compensate for the lack of online co-op. It is only free, though, for the entire month it’s released.

  • Most of the challenges are already in the game. In the swamp level, you can see the glowing trees, they’ll just be unlocked to work as a collectable. Also, the hanging flag / carpet things in the Spider Temple level and the coffins that you can blow open in the Ball Rolling level.

I really hate this approach, i’ll buy them because I love the game, but really would have liked new levels, not just things unlocked in the ones already there.

I don’t care for character skins, at all.
