There’s A Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Demo Out There

By Spencer . September 22, 2010 . 11:23am

But, right now it’s just for PlayStation Plus subscribers and its only in Europe. On September 29, the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow demo will be available to all PlayStation 3 owners with a European PlayStation Network account. Konami confirmed a demo will be coming to Xbox Live too at a later date.

While this is announcement is for Europe, Konami probably has plans to release a demo of one of their biggest games of 2010 in North America too. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow comes out on October 5 in North America.

This PSN+ is becoming more and more dangerously similar to XBL Gold.

    • LORDMATRIX2004

Been seeing the same trend myself. PSN+ feels like all it is, is the bonus discounts and early demo access and so forth that xbox gold members have through the marketplace.

That’s really pretty much what it is, they added the ratings and Hulu and such just like Live Gold. I hope they’d give out more freebies because I became a Plus subscriber. I wasn’t going to do it at first, but Kmart had this deal on PSN cards (buy a $20 get $10 credit, I was stacking them), so I used some to get Plus, also there was an extra 3 months. Right now I’ve d/l’ed stuffs and got several games on discount alrdy, so it kind of paid for itself. If they have good deals, a couple bucks a month is not bad.

Which is a shame. I was hoping it wouldn’t be like that. I hate XBL Gold.

Man, I’m already starting to think that Europe won’t be getting the Collectors Edition. The game is coming out in 2 weeks and I can’t see it listed in any retailers site. Wtf, Konami?

The italian branch of Gamestop has it for pre-order. It costs a whopping 99€.Needless to say, even if I were to get the game, I definitely wouldn’t buy that version.

  • Joystiq LIED to the U.S.! That or my friend read the wrong news post. Which is probably true ’cause he’s blind.

I found the demo a little short: the presentation was right and the audiovisual spectacle is more than assured. Most of all, the game benefits from the exceptional voice-work – which makes the text sound better than it is – and the proper cut-scene direction. A decent game by all accounts.
